Dr. Nagy graduated from Duke University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in 1994. He completed his ophthalmology residency in 1998 from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.
In 2002, Dr. Nagy joined Hawthorne Eye Associates. He resides in Clemmons with his wife and enjoys tennis, cycling and fishing.
Dr. Nagy is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
He specializes in cataract surgery, including the placement of premium lenses to correct astigmatism and to provide multi-focal correction of vision, which can reduce the need for glasses after surgery. He also treats glaucoma, taking advantage of minimally invasive glaucoma laser and surgical procedures to reduce patients’ dependence on glaucoma medications.
Justin P. Hess, MD

Dr. Hess is a comprehensive ophthalmologist whose interests involve cataract, management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and eyelid pathologies. As a cataract surgeon he offers premium lens implants and astigmatism correction. He also offers laser treatment for glaucoma and minimally invasive glaucoma surgical procedures, in addition to several eyelid repairs for poor lid positioning.
A Winston-Salem native, he graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and was elected to the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Hess completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Georgia, serving as the Academic Chief Resident during his final year.
He enjoys spending time with his wife - Aubrey, their two dogs, and family, with frequent trips to Lake Norman. He is also a life-long sports fan, and you can find him on the golf course or at Wake Forest sports games.
